Morse Micro is seeking a software & firmware Director with in-depth knowledge of embedded systems to lead our software team. We are looking for a genuine leader who can drive a team of  experienced engineers to craft the software & firmware for our next-generation Wi-Fi HaLow chips.

You will lead the software team and architect the next generation of Morse Micro’s software stack, from deeply embedded PHY and MAC processing to embedded RTOS architectures, Linux drivers and customer SDKs. You will work in a highly dynamic environment, working closely with the Analog, Systems and Digital IC Design teams to build and maintain an elegant embedded software architecture.

This position is located in Sydney, Australia - visa sponsorship is available to the right candidate

Responsibilities include

  • Reporting directly to VP of Software & Systems, you will lead the entire Software team, including PHY, MAC, RTOS, Linux and SDK teams
  • Architect next generation software on multi-core RISC-V architecture
  • Definition of interfaces, deliverables, milestones, goals and responsibilities
  • Close coordination with the systems, and hardware teams to ensure optimal designs

Essential skills (You must have):

  • 10+ years experience leading software & firmware teams
  • A deep understanding of embedded software architectures, including design & implementation
  • Track record of building, growing and leading embedded software teams
  • Experience with wireless protocols
  • Track record of on time delivery of complex projects
  • Technical lead and project management experience
  • Understanding of hardware design flow, trade offs and implications on software architecture

Bonus skills (Desired skills, but not essential):

  • Deep understanding of the IEEE 802.11 WLAN and Wi-Fi standards
  • Multi antenna protocol experience
