Xero is a beautiful, easy-to-use platform that helps small businesses and their accounting and bookkeeping advisors grow and thrive.

At Xero, our purpose is to make life better for people in small business, their advisors, and communities around the world. This purpose sits at the centre of everything we do. We support our people to do the best work of their lives so that they can help small businesses succeed through better tools, information and connections. Because when they succeed they make a difference, and when millions of small businesses are making a difference, the world is a more beautiful place.

Who’s the team?

The Security team is critical to ensuring the platform and security systems are deployed, maintained and innovated in line with industry best practice and to best support the requirements of the Xero environment.

What’s the role?

The Security Engineering team is diverse in every sense of the word. Our people and our technologies span the globe, and we are responsible for security detection, prevention, response, and everything in between for the entirety of Xero. There’s a vast array of tools and products to learn and a ton of interesting problems to put your problem-solving skills to the test.

Security at Xero has had a monumental shift over the last few years - the traditional model of security specialists doing all of the enforcement and implementation is out and empowering our developers and engineers to build #beautiful products securely is in. This is not your average Product Owner role - you will be helping define what product led security practice looks like not only for Xero, you’ll be helping define what it could like for the entire security industry.
