Overview of Position

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will be responsible for developing a communication strategy and then executing on that strategy to build the brand of the business. The company works across many exciting fields of technology including robotics, quantum, yacht racing, car racing, aerospace and space so there are many opportunities for exciting communications. This is a new role within the business so you will have the opportunity to build out and execute a strategy from the ground up.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for developing and executing a communication strategy to elevate the brand of the business
  • Develop, manage and implement the overarching strategic plans for external communications, PR and publicity
  • Lead and execute the communications strategy by combining your creativity and dynamism to develop impactful campaigns to promote products and services
  • Manage, counsel and guide on reputational issues
  • Build on your relationships with the relevant consumer and trade media as the “go to” in the industry
  • Deliver a wide range of internal and external communications
  • Writing speeches for the CEO, presentations and communications content across omni channels
  • Content: research, write and edit a range of engaging and informative content for media releases, FAQ’s, speeches, newsletters, website, digital and social media copy and award entries
  • Drive content amplification and integration across the wider business
  • Issue management, crisis management and preparedness.
  • Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as communications, PR or journalism
  • A minimum of 10 years previous experience in developing exceptional communication strategies and writing for different media channels
  • Strong experience working with the media
  • Strong knowledge of technology and knowledge around tech companies.
  • Strong commercial outlook with an analytical mind, always looking to improve.
  • Able to anticipate issues and mitigate risk; proactively and strategically approach issues, problems and opportunities.
  • Ability to multitask and work to multiple deadlines and competing priorities
  • Highly articulate with an excellent command of English and exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • An innate sense of curiosity and a thirst for knowledge
  • An analytical yet creative thinker with demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Takes ownership of projects from start to completion
  • Strong decision-making skills and is not afraid to take initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships and work well within a team
  • Exceptional at stakeholder management and able to effectively communicate with staff at different levels
  • Very high attention to detail and ability to ensure the accuracy of work
  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment and is able to adapt quickly to business needs
