As Tyro’s Corporate Development & Strategy Analyst, you will play an important role in supporting the development of Tyro’s strategy and exploring inorganic growth opportunities. This role represents a unique opportunity for a top performer to join a high-performing strategy team inside one of Australia’s most innovative banks and successful ‘fintechs’.

You will drive strategy forward by researching and analysing industry trends and participants, evaluating inorganic growth opportunities, building advanced financial models to support decision-making, and supporting the execution of CEO-sponsored projects.

The team operates similarly to an internal consultancy, meaning you will be exposed to a variety of different projects and have the opportunity to work on both department-specific and company-wide initiatives.

What you will be doing...

  • Development and ownership of financial models to support inorganic growth opportunities, monitor our strategic investments, and follow the valuations of comparable organisations
  • Continuously monitor market trends and the competitive landscape to help identify new business opportunities and to share insights with the wider business
  • Potential to be embedded into cross-functional internal and external teams on strategic projects, as required
  • Support the communication of strategy to a wide-variety of key stakeholders, including the Board and shareholders
  • Frequent interaction and influence with all major disciplines across the firm including: Product, Finance, Risk, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Talent etc.
  • What you bring to the role...

  • Excellent financial modelling skills, including a good understanding of merger modelling, valuations, and quantitative target tracking
  • Experience with inorganic growth processes and deal execution
  • An honest, values-led and easy-going individual who enjoys working within high-performing teams
  • Excellent research, problem-solving and analytical skills, with impeccable analytical and business judgment
  • Understanding of the fundamentals behind strategy and planning at a corporate-level
  • Passion for the financial technology industry, particularly payments or banking
  • Self-starter that can work independently and with a high degree of autonomy
  • Experience at a top-tier management consulting firm or investment bank/PE/VC, in-house corporate strategy team, or other relevant work experience.
