We are looking for an exceptional Principal Product Manager to lead a key part of the Product customer journey: the Tasker journey. As a fully horizontal, two-sided marketplace, the problem of achieving parity across our platform is ever changing and flexing with macroeconomic and societal developments. This is in addition to developing our Product to achieve our mission of becoming the global go-to marketplace to buy and sell local services. What you'll do:
Lead a small team of Product Managers who are focused on Tasker activation and retention efforts Translate pillars of our vision into key strategic initiatives, contributing to capital allocation decisionsIdentify opportunities that arise from new technologies, channels, markets and model forecasted impact of these opportunities to AirtaskerImagine, define, pitch and bring brand new products to marketIdentify competitor threats and understand competitor strategies, proactively recognising opportunities to establish competitive advantage Understand and empathise with user needs beyond Airtasker, identifying new opportunities in the form of unmet needs or untapped channels, to unlock valueExpertly handle ambiguity by being flexible and creating clarity for othersLead negotiations with partners/vendors in high-stakes dealsRun projects to test high-potential, low-certainty assumptions in uncharted areas adjacent to our product - e.g. testing new technology, channels, verticals, customer segmentsAct as a role model for collaboration and creating alignment across cross-functional teamsObserve dynamics within cross-functional teams, proactively highlighting cohesion risks and how problems can be resolvedWork with Research and Data to introduce tools and processes that enable Airtasker to uncover new insightsWork with Engineering leadership when introducing new teams to ensure it has the right mix of skills and competencies given the respective problem space
What it takes to be successful in the role:
7+ years’ experience in Product Management, ideally within a marketplace business, including leading a team of Product ManagersDeep experience leading the delivery of impactful products and features that are informed by data as well as user researchRelentlessly high standards in pursuit of raising the bar and driving teams to deliver high quality products, services and processesStrong experimentation acumenIntimate understanding of our tech stack, system architecture and 3rd party servicesOutstanding analytical skills to break down and solve complex problems by crafting customer-first solutions and thinking from first principlesStrong analytically minded systems thought leaderStrong quantitative background - Math, CS, Statistics or Economics preferredThe ability to find the story in the numbers and inspire others to join you on the journey to solve the core problem
