Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity, assuming candidates have eligible working rights and a sufficient timezone overlap with their team. As our offices re-open, Atlassians can choose to work remotely or return to an office, unless it’s necessary for the role to be performed in the office. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

We are looking for a Product Designer to join the Jira Shared Experience (JSE) team. This platform team is made up of seasoned experts who currently deliver value to all the Jira family of products - fun, talented, hardworking who all enjoy playing and working together to define the future of work management.

Jira Shared Experiences (JSE) is part of our Cloud Platform team that enables Atlassian products to create ways to help all teams to come together, collaborate, and control their workflows. This team is the foundation for Jira Service Management, Jira Software, Jira Core, Jira Align, and any future Atlassian product. We care deeply about enabling our products and customers to enable their teams to set up and configure projects, find, resume and move their work forward. We partner and collaborate with many product teams across Atlassian, ensure we are collecting their requirements and building an optimal experience for our customers across products.

To do so you will collaborate with teams across Atlassian consisting of product managers, designers, engineers and architects to bring this vision to life. Your unique skills and toolkit will help bring empathy for our customers and drive more clarity to our decisions, processes & tools. You will be deeply involved in the entire design process from helping define vision and strategy through to final execution (yes, it will be shipped!). With a mission to unlock the power of people (and we’re scaling fast), the impact of your work will be felt across the Jira family of products.

On your first day, we'll expect you will be able to:

  • Hands-on professional experience as a UX Designer or Product Designer
  • Work across the entire end-to-end design process, from very early-stage research and ideation to iteration and implementation
  • A passion for design thinking methods with a deep understanding and a high degree of empathy for the people who experience your work
  • Anticipate design problems and decisions and recommends alternatives
  • Solid research knowledge, i.e. you can define what user research needs to be done (and you're excited to do some yourself) and use existing research findings in your work
  • Facilitation, communication and collaboration abilities, a flexible and friendly approach to working with teams, and the attitude to always strive for the best outcomes
  • Work alongside a fellow designer, product manager and engineers to optimize the experience for how customers interact with Jira experiences
  • Bonus points for experience using Service Design as a means of improving end-to-end experiences
  • In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Work on designing the core user experiences for JIRA, used by over 10M monthly active users
  • Facilitate workshops with designers, engineers, product managers and customers for potential solutions to the identified problems in the most effective way
  • Design experiences that make complex tasks simple for our users
  • Partner closely with other Jira product teams, Product Designers, Product Managers, Engineering & Program Management
  • Join a high-performing team at the forefront of empowering team collaboration
  • More about our benefits
