Day-in-a-Life of our Senior Finance Manager  

We’re on the hunt for a highly-analytical and qualified Senior Finance Manager to help us to achieve our big, audacious goals to transform the plant-based and alternative protein sector.

In this position, you will be responsible for the financial health of our company by managing our financial procedures. Your duties will include co-ordinating the day-to-day financial operations, budget planning, liaising with financial service providers and assistance with financial reporting and audits.

You will be at the centre of a well-funded and rapidly scaling start-up. To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of financial policies, procedures, and systems. In addition to being an excellent communicator, our ideal candidate will also have outstanding analytical and time management abilities.

In this role, you will:

  • Create and implement financial policies to guarantee operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the preparation and planning of budgets.
  • Coordinate records and receipts for all daily transactions in Xero.
  • Ensure financial records are kept up-to-date with the latest transactions and changes.
  • Contribute to financial audits.
  • Prepare R&D tax rebates and assist with financial elements of grant submission
  • Monitor all bank deposits and payments.
  • Perform periodic financial analysis to detect and resolve problems.
  • Prepare balance sheets and financial documents for board reports.
  • Liaise with Accountant / Bookkeeper

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or relevant field.
  • 5+ years experience preferred in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
  • Outstanding analytical and time management skills.

It would be great, but not essential, if you also had:

  • Start-up company experience.
  • Revenue forecast modelling for products.
  • TAM and SAM modelling for existing markets.

  • A great communicator who can break down and communicate accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders with ease.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Comfortable in ambiguity and enjoy working in a ‘hands on’ capacity.
  • Not afraid to challenge status quo and have a continuous improvement mindset.
