The role
This role sits within the Legal & Compliance function and will be responsible for scaling out and managing the compliance frameworks to ensure Zip’s compliance with its regulatory obligations. This will include managing internal and external reporting requirements and helping to create, implement and maintain internal policies and practices for regulatory compliance.
You will get the chance to work closely with Zip’s internal stakeholders including Customer Service, Credit, & Collections, Marketing and Product teams. This role also has the opportunity to build and scale these programs as Zip expands and would be perfect for a senior compliance officer who is looking to take ownership and have a meaningful impact on the business through your contribution.

Your responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update policies and compliance manuals according to changes in regulations, products or business lines
  • Identifying emerging compliance issues and proactively advise on their implications and risk
  • Be the first point of referral for responses to regulatory requests/investigations from or notices to regulators (including OAIC and ACMA) related to complaints or potential eligible data breaches;
  • working closely with frontline Operational teams ensuring appropriate training and escalation of complaints for containment, management, and remediation
  • Analyse and review complaints and their outcomes to identify risks and trends
  • Work closely with the Product and Marketing teams to ensure customer facing disclosures and collection, use and disclosure of information is aligned with policies
  • Your skills:

  • 6+ years' demonstrated compliance experience
  • Liaise openly and provide robust and straightforward recommendations to the business areas to ensure that a genuine understanding of processes, practices and policies are established
  • Ability to challenge priorities and explore solutions with colleagues and the wider business
  • Experience working with a sense of urgency and ability to take on a fast-paced and rapidly growing company and industry
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to get across legal issues and new regulatory landscapes quickly
  • Ability to raise potential risks and concerns regarding the decisions of others in way that generates alignment to enable successful launch of products & solutions
  • Experience building and maintaining external networks
