To help drive this growth we are looking for a Finance Business Partner - Sales & Marketing to join our growing finance team. Although this role reports to the Global Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will be embedded in the business, heavily supporting the Global Commercial Marketing Director. 
The remit of this role is wide; you will own all aspects of the financial performance of our Sales function, including deal pricing and performance. Your focus will be predominantly Australia but this will expand to the UK and lean into the US and NZ where required.

The role:

  • Building financial and pricing models for merchant deals - help the Sales team understand trade offs and implications of rate changes.
  • Post implementations reviews - help to understand effectiveness of merchant integrations and promotions (for Zip and Zip’s merchant partners).
  • Assessing merchant performance and profitability across the managed and unmanaged portfolio.
  • Business planning - help lead the Sales team through quarterly, half yearly and annual planning cycles from building budgets to building sales initiatives.
  • Budgeting & forecasting - create and manage the end to end Sales budget, including merchant promotions, rebates, sales commissions and workforce planning.
  • Expense and headcount control.
  • Performance reporting - ensure Sales KPIs are appropriate, being measured and regularly reported back to the business to drive continuous improvement.
  • Reporting on any variances between actuals and budget/forecast.
  • Sales commission - lead the design and monitor effectiveness of the sales commission structure, including the calculation of commissions to be paid.
  • Build financial models to support other strategic planning activities as required.
  • To help us level up, you’ll bring:

  • At least 7 years+ experience advising senior leaders in a commercial decision making capacity - preferably experience in sales operations and deal pricing. 
  • Self-starter attitude in willingly taking the lead to get things done. Ability to exercise judgment and solve difficult problems without direct supervision. 
  • A fast and accurate judge of commercial opportunities, including the key assumptions required before building confident recommendations.
  • Be comfortable operating in uncertainty and making data-based assumptions to move through challenges.
  • Proven experience collaborating with a diverse stakeholder group to understand and solve commercially-focused issues.
  • Ability to hustle with desire to work flexibly on problems and opportunities, large and small, across multiple countries, this won’t be a typical 9-5 day
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent financial modelling skills, with the ability to create powerful, flexible and user friendly financial models.
