The Role
The Financial Controller for APAC will oversee all aspects of APAC’s finance functions. In this role, the Controller will be responsible for building out the accounting function and team, implementing processes and controls to improve operational efficiency, day to day accounting operations & systems, and technical accounting & policies. This role also will be highly cross-functional and tightly integrated with the business. We are looking for someone who has the motivation to both roll up their sleeves as well as be the strategic thought leader for the finance function. The ideal candidate has SaaS experience, is highly analytical and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage the accounting close on a monthly basis including but not limited to preparing and reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Manage all Financial compliance for the region including new market documentation and financial operational execution
  • Manage and comply with all statutory reporting requirements and tax filings including management of outsourced tax agent, sending the required information monthly, reconciling, resolving discrepancies and their ROC (if applicable).
  • Evaluate current accounting processes and related systems to identify and implement improvement and automation.
  • Manage and be a great mentor to grow an accounting team.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement to identify, develop, and implement process changes to increase efficiency, ensure accurate monthly reporting, and streamline accounting processes.
  • Report monthly actuals versus Business Unit and Cost center by region.
  • Manage annual audits, filings, taxes, and corporate accounting activities.
  • Undertake financial reporting – Monthly, Quarterly and Annually.
  • Provide finance leadership over contract review, revenue recognition, and commissions to sales team.
  • Manage Cash flow forecast and management.
  • Be an imperative part of the forecast and budget process. Work with FP&A to deliver accurate regional informational and trends to create a rolling forecast and annual budget.
  • Manage in country bank relationships and controls.
  • Adhoc Group reporting as required.
  • What We Are Looking For

  • CPA - Certified Public Accountant or CA required
  • Strong Accounting knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proactive and keen learner
  • Business or Finance degree 
  • 7+ years’ experience
  • Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved
