Seer Medical is a Melbourne-based med-tech company with an ambitious agenda to challenge the status quo of how healthcare is delivered. Through award-winning medical devices, mobile apps and software solutions combined with an extensive research and development program, we are shifting the patient center of care from the hospital to the home.

Our mission is to empower patients and their doctors by creating new care pathways that are entirely free from the inefficiencies of bricks and mortar institutions. Building on our expertise in epilepsy, we are creating end-to-end systems that give people control over their health and put them on a path to better medical outcomes.

With a strong team, Seer Medical will be the global technology leader in home monitoring across neurological, sleep, and cardiac conditions by 2026.

We know this is possible because of the impact Seer Medical has had on how neurology is practiced here in Australia. Since 2017, we’ve helped more than 7,000 Australians get the answers they need — cutting waiting times from several months to just a few weeks, diverting 100 bed years away from hospitals and saving the health system over $50 million. Today, Seer Medical sees more than double the patients requiring video-EEG than all of Australia’s hospitals combined.

Our international expansion aims to provide:

  • improved healthcare access and experiences to patients
  • objective information to healthcare providers to improve clinical decision-making and care
  • curated data at an unprecedented scale for future discovery

We will be able to do this through advances in:

  • mobile, wearable and implantable devices
  • access to internet, cloud computing and cloud storage
  • machine learning, data analytics and artificial intelligence

In parallel, we are designing and developing a best-in-class digital health platform with a focus on seizure risk management, providing readily-available forecasts to millions of people living with epilepsy throughout the world.

We are looking for a React Native Developer to join our growing software team. Our mobile app currently helps people living with epilepsy manage their condition, and supports accurate diagnosis of epilepsy during video-EEG-ECG monitoring. Seer’s world-leading research team have proven a number of novel methods for better managing epilepsy and the Seer mobile app is the place this research is practically applied to help people. Our feature map includes projects that are potentially life-changing. If you enjoy working on interesting technical challenges, with React Native, and having your work directly improve the lives of people in our community, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Developing, testing, and maintaining code for our mobile app (React Native with Apollo Client) and the GraphQL server (NodeJS, ExpressJS and Apollo Server)
  • In collaboration with the rest of the team, ensuring that our software is user friendly, secure, resilient, and maintainable
  • Contributing ideas in discussions about how our technology should/could be built
  • Being an active member of the team's development and learning

  • Solid experience in software development (including both front and back-end development)
  • Very comfortable writing JavaScript and experienced with at least one modern front-end JavaScript framework
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, and a focus on user experience
  • Enthusiasm for software quality (automated testing, code review, and documentation)
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team with different backgrounds and experience levels

In addition to these base attributes, we are particularly interested in people with experience in:

  • React Native
  • Typescript
  • GraphQL (especially the Apollo libraries)
  • SQL
  • Git, CI/CD, and agile development practices

  • An opportunity to help build amazing software that will directly and genuinely improve the lives of people in our community
  • A multidisciplinary team of highly skilled people
  • A range of really interesting features and problems, with a modern tech stack
  • A flexible, remote-friendly (and regular friendly!) team and work environment
