The Role

Atlassian is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join one of our brand new teams. 

The Cross Product Collaboration team’s mission is to help our customers move their tasks seamlessly across all Atlassian and 3rd party products, through a scalable and reliable platform.

As a Principal Engineer, you’ll lay the foundation to enable 40 software engineers, to build simple and fit for purpose architecture. Whilst simultaneously collaborating with teams across the organisation, building integration roadmaps and proactively solving future engineering challenges.

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams working Jira, Confluence, Trello and many more product teams.
• Take ownership of the design and build of technical architecture 
• Build trusting relationships with Engineering Managers and Stakeholders within your immediate team and across the organisation. 
•  Deploy plans-of-attack on future threats to the platform
•  Reinforce high quality engineering standards with your team 
•  Support software engineers with technical mentorship
•  Encourage teams to drive innovation, unlock opportunities to create impactful technology for our users.

Skills we like

• Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science related technical field.
•  We love engineers that are language agnostic. Experience with Java, Python, C#, C/C++, or Ruby is highly valued.
• Valuable knowledge in at least one technical topic/domain
•  Enjoys being a mentor, helping members of your team learn and grow
•  Considers the customer impact when making technical decisions
