Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.
Enjoy helping smart people overcome their technical issues? Get on board Technical Support Engineer (Shield) in Atlassian’s Compute & Orchestration group.
As a Shield, you’ll support Atlassian developers that deploy and operate their services on our Kubernetes clusters. You’ll respond to queries that require a wide breadth of knowledge across many systems, tech stacks and AWS infrastructure. You’ll be the voice of the customer within our group, representing their needs. You’ll also be analysing trends in user queries to help reduce support load on the team, running projects to reduce this load, contributing to services and utilities sought at automating away repetitive work. We’ll also see you engaged with self-serve training opportunities to help our users gain deeper understanding of our available capabilities.
More about our team
Recently formed, the Compute and Orchestration group provide managed kubernetes clusters to service teams and organisations at Atlassian. Additionally, there is a sister team providing AWS accounts to Atlassian where a managed kubernetes or micros solution is not yet viable. We are seeing significant growth in Atlassian service teams using our orchestration platforms, namely Bitbucket, Observability and Build and Deploy. As a platform our customers are expecting their services to be available for deployment and management in a fast and reliable manner.
We follow modern development best-practices and apply these to our operational work. We often find ourselves inventing new approaches not seen elsewhere to meet the constantly evolving platform needs of Atlassian developers, and much of our work goes into scaling our systems to keep pace with Atlassian’s own growth. We explicitly set time aside for innovation and experimentation, and are always on the lookout for new technologies or tooling to help us achieve our goals.
We also consult as domain specialists to our developers to help them embrace best practices in their platform usage, whilst aiming to provide education in the finer points and extensibility of our platform.
Our teams aim to have empower our users, reduce down the operational cost of providing viable platforms, and reducing friction for our users and their services throughout Atlassian. If those goals are shared by yourself, we have a team for you.
