Currently, our employees are predominately working from home and this role will also be remote for the time being. We anticipate employees will be returning to the office, in a flexible capacity, during 2021 as appropriate & when it is safe to do so.

ROLE SUMMARY

Our finance team is currently going through an exciting phase of transformation as we prepare for our high growth plans. We have a rare opportunity for a talented Senior Accountant to join our equally talented and high performing finance team. We’re embarking on a series of exciting projects which will keep the ideal candidate challenged and adding immediate value from Day 1. 

We’re looking for vibrant personalities who can articulate financial concepts and can bring a strong positive energy and presence to our finance team and the wider organisation. You will thrive working in a fast paced environment and are highly motivated to grow in your career. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, your role will also involve being a key finance contact to others in the business, whilst helping develop best practice controls. 

The ideal candidate is a fast learner, CA or CPA qualified and preferably from an audit or big 4 background, with knowledge of controls and best practice processes. The role requires someone who has had experience working on multi currency consolidations and knows what a best practice month end is. 

The role requires strong communication skills and a ‘can-do’ attitude to question how processes can be improved and then formulating a plan to action this. To succeed in this role, the candidate needs to be highly organised with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and have the ability to pivot quickly to juggle various moving pieces. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take ownership of month-end tasks/year-end close processes, working independently to deliver outcomes with minimal supervision
  • Primary point of contact to key stakeholders in the business - working extensively with other departments to help them understand their financials
  • Review of month end accounting activities, PL analytical reviews, balance sheet reconciliations
  • Working with multi currency subsidiaries and consolidations
  • Working closely with the Financial Controller to roll out new processes, initiatives, policies service enhancements 
  • Confidence to present finance initiatives and to explain finance processes to people from a non financial background 
  • Oversight and review of finance activities with the opportunity to build and lead an off-shore team
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Strategic Finance and Business Systems who have dependencies from the Finance Team 
  • SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 6+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2+ years PQE (CA or CPA Qualified)
  • A relevant Tertiary qualification in Finance/Commerce or similar
  • Experience in transforming a business as it scales and grows, ideally having had some experience in a fast growth, or SaaS, company (or both).
  • Strong technical experience as a senior accountant, owning month-end/year-end processes
  • Big 4 Audit background highly desirable
  • Experience working in a fast moving environment
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience, Netsuite experience is preferred. Any experience with Netsuite Suite Apps such as Tipalti is a plus
  • Experience with SOX or other similar control frameworks a bonus
