The People & Culture (P&C) Business Partner plays a crucial role in the execution of P&C strategic objectives and operations. Partnering with Business Leaders in support of strategic business objectives, the Business Partner advises and coaches managers across all elements of the employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a thought partner with managers to improve people-related priorities across the business
  • Assist leaders with strategic planning and forecasting needs regarding people and organisational culture
  • Provide assistance and guidance to line management on a broad range of human resource policies, programs, and practices
  • Coach business leaders and managers on people management best practices
  • Maintain current understanding of business leaders’ department, strategy, and people related issues by becoming a valuable member of the business’s leadership team
  • Participate in the development of the annual P&C strategic plan and objectives; and disseminate to ensure fit for purpose local people objectives
  • Implement HR-related programs across teams, focused on the likes of remuneration & benefits, rewards and recognition, learning and development, employee engagement, organisational effectiveness and design and leading for performance
  • Provide guidance, counsel, and training to managers and employees (where necessary to mitigate business risk) on employee relations issues
  • Collaborate with business leaders to design organisational structures, job roles, and talent management processes to drive organisational strategy
  • Function as HR lead for stakeholders going through organisational change and restructuring

  • Maintain current understanding of each stakeholder’s department, strategy, people related issues by becoming a valuable member of the stakeholder’s leadership team 
  • Maintain a current knowledge of relevant legislation and regulation and participate in developing appropriate policies and procedures
  • Analyse a broad range of HR data to identify valid insights, and convert these insights into recommendations the business can use to make decisions
  • Apply rigorous project management techniques to planning and implementing cross-functional P&C initiatives that support current and future business strategies

What you bring:

  • Significant experience as People & Culture/Human Resource Business Partner, covering a wide range of HR disciplines
  • Comfortable with People & Culture colleagues sitting in multiple geographies, (Australia, New Zealand & Canada).  Ability to operate autonomously while ensuring a joined up approach with the People & Culture function
  • A change management agent who can help leaders and employees transition through various initiatives
  • A combination of experience from a matrix business and start-up environment would be ideal with employees spread across geographies
