About the Role

We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our rapidly growing business (part-time with the prospect to go full time). Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for providing financial support to the business including but not limited to: accounts receivable & payable, reconciliations, reporting, superannuation, internal projects and other administration tasks as required.

Requirements

The Duties

  • Perform day-to-day general bookkeeping, including verifying, classifying, computing, recording and posting accounting figures and financial records.
  • Prepare and generate invoices and statements accurately and timely for distribution within internal departments as required.
  • Processing supplier payments and record income accurately and in compliance with financial policies and procedures, in a timely manner.
  • Performing bank reconciliations accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support the month end process including workpaper preparation as required.
  • Regularly review debtors and creditors aging analysis within the agreed upon finance timeline.
  • Provide financial information, prepare reports and assist in external audits as required.
  • Address and resolve any queries from relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate and assist with regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with business improvements including implementation of new systems and procedures along with project management support.
  • Ability to use data analytics to extract valuable insights to improve processes and manage risk.
  • Ability to review financial statements and conduct research on regulatory requirements as required.
  • Providing general administrative assistance to the operations team including cloud file management, record keeping and general duties.

About You:

You have knowledge and a background in bookkeeping and accounting principles. You are a true operations team all-rounder, and are able to provide support to other functions in the business such as HR. Able to hit the ground running, you are a quick learner who takes pride in your ability to work autonomously to achieve results and pay close attention to detail. Engaging with excellent communication skills, you have a strong ability to prioritise and are able to work well with all levels of stakeholders. Skills & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or Bookkeeping qualification (or studying towards)
  • Proficient knowledge of Xero is advantageous, not essential
  • Understanding of general SaaS business operations will be advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritise your workload, in an agile working environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders
  • High attention to detail
  • Computer skills, with a competent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word, Excel
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
