This newly created role is an exciting opportunity to join the Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DIB) team at Xero as part of our global ‘centre of excellence’ for Organisational Development (OD). You’ll play an essential role in creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive Xero. Your primary focus will be to partner with regional business and PX colleagues to deliver on our DIB objectives for the Asia Pacific (APAC) Region and to implement regional DIB initiatives aligned with Xero’s global strategy. In addition, you’ll play an important role as part of the DIB and OD team in creating new global initiatives that can be implemented across Xero.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with our regional People Experience (PX) Partners,  APAC regional leadership teams and other leaders  to support programs, interventions and strategic DIB opportunities for Asia (Hong Kong & Singapore), Australia and New Zealand, in line with our global DIB strategy and Xero’s values and purpose
  • Partner and build excellent relationships within the business and across PX to understand business priorities and needs
  • Act as a trusted advisor to all levels of Xero’s business across APAC in terms of providing subject matter expertise on DIB and connecting DIB to all aspects of our business
  • Engage with people leaders across APAC and build their capability to role model and prioritise DIB for their teams, while continuing to build awareness and capability to ensure DIB is owned by all Xeros
  • Working with our Communications team where appropriate, lead our internal and external communications about DIB initiatives, events and progress across the APAC
  • Partner with our Learning Experience team to deliver impactful in-person and online DIB content and training for our people in the southern hemisphere, including customising global training where appropriate for the APAC region
  • Use a data-driven approach to inform internal audiences, measure success of existing programs and initiatives and identify additional opportunities for continued improvement
  • Partner with the Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to facilitate and support them to deliver against their annual operating plans, create internal events and initiatives to support inclusion and belonging for our people across APAC
  • Support the establishment,  growth and development of new ERGs across APAC
  • Partner with the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) working group to lead the development, launch and ongoing implementation of Xero’s RAP and commitment to First Nations engagement in Australia
  • Provide data driven research and industry benchmarking that will help Xero deliver ‘bestpractice’ DIB strategies customised for the APAC region
  • Evaluate and maintain relationships with external organisations (eg. industry, non-profit, and university groups) that align with our DIB objectives
  • Track and monitor investment and budget spend for APAC specific initiatives
  • As an integral part of the global DIB team, lead or contribute (as appropriate) to the design, development and implementation of new global DIB initiatives and broader OD initiatives
  • What you’ll bring with you

  • 8+ years of organisational experience with 3+ years of experience focused on DIB and or OD programs
  • Practical experience in delivering a broad range of OD & DIB strategies, policies and processes
  • Proven ability to apply DIB and OD best practices Experience coaching leaders on DIB and/or OD initiatives
  • Experience in building & supporting ERGs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERG trends and growth
  • Experience with data collection practices and a strong ability to translating data into actionable insights
  • Experience in training & facilitation
  • Previous experience in DIB/OD at a high-growth tech company or a large and complex global organization would be highly regarded
  • Passion for helping people fulfill their potential and driving organizational change through amplified DIB initiatives
  • Collaborative with a passion towards community building
  • Strong sense of EQ and ability to strategically influence and nudge people out of their comfort zones
  • Highly conscious of all aspects of diversity issues with strong knowledge of social power dynamics and ways to shift systemic inequities
  • Strong commercial acumen with a data-driven mindset
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships and navigate across all levels of the business
  • Ability to leverage data and metrics to ensure effective implementation and measurement of DIB programs
  • Expert organisational and project planning and management skills, with a keen focus on execution
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team, and prioritise competing demands
  • Diplomacy, drive and a high level of integrity
