Summary of Role:
This is an exciting new role to develop and lead our Australian based Smart Buildings technical team. If you are a buildings systems integration specialist, passionate about designing and delivering the future of Smart Buildings through Digital Twins, then this role is for you.
You will have at least 8-10 years’ extensive technical engineering experience working with BMS/MSI smart building integrations and fulfilled lead engineering roles on major BMS and/or MSI project technical design and delivery.
Supported by Willow’s Global Smart Buildings Technology team you will provide technical solution design and delivery expertise from sales through to customer success.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Initially the role will require a ‘hands on’ project delivery focus, however we envisage this changing within 6 months to assume the wider Regional Lead responsibilities as indicated below: 
  • 25% Technical Sales Support – support the Willow business development and sales teams
  • 50% Technical Implementation Delivery Lead – lead the technical implementation
  • 10% Post Implementation – support ongoing customer engagements
  • 5% People + Partner development – develop and manage people and key partnerships/engagements
  • 10% Product Team SME – develop and provide ongoing Smart Buildings expertise to product and engineering teams
  • Fulfil a technical leadership and management role supporting sales, implementation, and customer success
  • Design and deliver robust and reliable data buildings integrations
  • Support customers post implementation to access and leverage the Willow Command Platform and Marketplace.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to Willow’s Business Development Teams
  • As needed, apply technical expertise to assist Willow Project Delivery Managers verify site readiness. This requires skilled liaison with clients, their FM’s and their building system contractors to ensure sites and data sources are “Integration ready”
  • Lead scoping and engagement of any outsourced technical project delivery requirements for data integrations, using Willow approved service providers
  • Build the Data Integrations technical team further as the business scales and provide the onboarding and development pathways for new staff
  • Skills & Experience:

  • At least 8 years’ experience working with BMS/MSI smart building integrations and demonstratable time as technical lead, having delivered or participated in projects of the following nature:
  • - Energy Performance Upgrades and Strategy (LEED)
  • - Analytics, Fault Detection and Diagnostics
  • - Smart Places, Wellness, and IoT Sensor Networks (WELL)
  • - Converged Networks and Integrated Data Layers
  • Well-developed technical subject matter expertise and ready to assume SME status for Willow in Australia for all technical aspects of data and system integrations
  • Proven relationship management experience in customer facing and project delivery roles. Demonstrable technical problem-solving experience designing and implementing integration projects, having to work through FM’s building services contractors, other client representatives and their IT/OT system managers
  • BMCS field knowledge coupled with working knowledge of typical ELV systems integrated for advanced building performance (e.g., lighting, access control, vertical transport, metering) as well as other IOT enabled devices
  • A full working knowledge of data naming and tagging conventions and have been directly responsible for their implementation in previous roles applying commonly use data ontologies such as Haystack, Brick Schema, DTDL and others. Likely to have worked with Tridium Niagara Tools or understand their broad use in the Integrations space
  • Fully conversant with layered digital architecture designs and the growing application of Middleware platforms deploying warehoused normalised data and live data from integrated data sources
  • Exposure to other Control Systems outside BMS like PLC, SCADA, LabView, Solar Monitoring, etc well regarded
