About Allume

Allume are an Australian based company making solar accessible and affordable for multi-tenanted buildings. We have developed a proprietary piece of technology, called the SolShare, that optimally shares energy from a single solar system to multiple units. This behind-the-meter technology needs no change to the standard metering infrastructure and no change to the utility's billing system, making it a scalable solution to democratize access to solar energy globally.

The Role

Allume’s product spans the mechanical, electrical, electronics, firmware and digital software engineering spheres, and we are looking for a capable and passionate electronics/electrical engineer to expand our capability. 

Reporting to the CTO, this position provides an opportunity within Allume’s hardware development team to conduct electronics design activities, verification and transfer to manufacture of our flagship product, the SolShare. 

The role will require the persistence to solve problems, the initiative to identify product improvement opportunities and the diligence to follow through on detailed design and verification activities. 

At Allume there is significant opportunity to expand and move into various technical and commercial roles, therefore over time this position is likely evolve. 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of electrical/electronics engineering experience
  • Electronics debug and testing experience
  • Hands on experience with mechanical and/or electrical prototyping
  • Resilience and adaptability to work in a fast moving and early stage business
  • Initiative to work autonomously, independently solve problems and formulate quality processes
  • Collaborative, team based approach with good communication skills

Nice to have

  • Understanding of solar PV systems
  • Experience in power electronics
  • Electronics design activities e.g. architecture, schematic, PCB layout, cable design
  • Involvement in verification and regulatory testing of a hardware product e.g. EMC compliance, safety compliance such as UL
  • Experience designing for and/or transferring product to manufacture
  • Hazard analysis, risk management, FMEA
  • Embedded software development experience
