The Role
Seeking an inquisitive & collaborative software engineer to enhance integration, extend existing operations support systems, improve automation capability & build new systems. Playing a key role in continuous improvement through collaboration, experimentation & integration to enhance the functionality.

You'll be required to have a strong operational mindset and be willing to step back & understand the technical challenges to help extend & integrate operations support systems within the wider Megaport business. Experienced in evaluating various off the shelf and custom solutions & provide the most appropriate solution. You'll have extensive experience in integrating various APIs to improve business capabilities. You will need extensive experience in both front-end and back-end solutions in an operations environment. You have extensive experience with the latest software engineering technologies & are adaptable across the diverse software languages required to update, extend & implement the appropriate solution.

What you'll be doing

  • Work with internal teams to extend and improve existing solutions to business requirements
  • Own the SDLC lifecycle including deployment process from dev to staging to UAT to QA to production
  • Implement, update and maintain web interfaces integrating APIs from internal and external systems to improve operations support
  • Build backend tools that provide a common Rest API to multiple internal and external systems including monitoring, ticketing and customer portals.
  • Compare and evaluate existing and off-the-shelf solutions to improve operations support
  • Maintain the infrastructure environment required to deliver the capability in Cloud platforms including AWS
  • Ensure all systems developed are actively monitored and alert on failures
  • Basic and complex configuration of operations applications including Jira and procured monitoring systems including building API’s from these applications to internal systems and developing plugins.
  • Develop and implement customer Chat solutions with Jira Integration
  • Maintain design and specification documentation for the assigned projects in Megaport’s KB system
  • Record all work in Megaports ticketing system and generate periodic progress reports for management consumption
  • What we are looking for

  • 5+ years extensive production full stack and building RESTful API development experience
  • Building reusable frontend components with Javascript, Typescript, VueJS, Groovy, Selenium, Cypress
  • Designing and implementing flexible backend and middleware business logic with Groovy, Java, Python, Perl
  • Extensive experience with Relational and non-relational databases such as Cassandra, MySQL and PostgreSQL
  • Configuration management and automation with Ansible, Docker containers, AWS container orchestration
  • Experience in building and extending Jira functionality through custom plugins and workflow optimisation
  • Continuous integration and revision control systems and release management
  • Design, build, and maintain orchestrated infrastructure on cloud platforms
  • Extensive use of at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Linux/UNIX system administration skills
  • Experience in integrating systems and automating operations at scale
  • Passionate and experienced in automating things & ensure system scalability, reliability and security
  • A deep analytical approach to solution development and problem solving
  • Self driven, enthusiastic and independent professional
