This is an exciting opportunity for experienced full-stack Software Engineer to join our talented engineering team in a full-time role.

In this role you will design, build and maintain software solutions, infrastructure, and services that drive Flippa. This position plays a key role in our expansion at Flippa and will contribute to the culture of the engineering and wider Flippa team.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will get to work on:

Write clean, maintainable and efficient code

Build Ruby on Rails and JavaScript applications

Design robust, scalable and secure features, handling large scale problems with asynchronous messaging solutions.

Follow best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration, adhering to coding standards)

Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies

Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to scope and plan new features

Deploying daily, via continuous deployment infrastructure into the cloud.

Work with agile methodologies

Promote process and technical improvements

Share your knowledge and skills with the team

Mentor engineers to help them up-skill

Perform code reviews and pair programming

Fulfil a primary support role for the production ecosystem (on-call rotation)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with proven work experience in software development including:

Proven work experience in software development, with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience with Ruby on Rails

Demonstrable knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript

Working knowledge of databases and SQL

Experience developing highly interactive applications

Ability to operate with infrastructure (AWS, Heroku)

Experience with Agile development methodologiesIdeally, you will also have a bachelor or master degree in Computer Science, Engineering or in a related field

A firm grasp of object-oriented analysis and design
