The Role:
An exciting opportunity has come up to join Airwallex as a Senior Finance Manager in our Finance team. This role will focus on working with our global Finance team and oversee all finance functions for Australia. In addition, the Finance Manager will be responsible for financial due diligence and regulatory reporting and will work with a number of stakeholders throughout the business to ensure all regulatory requirements are met. The Finance Manager will also play an integral role in supporting the Airwallex’s commercial teams growth globally.

Additionally we expect you to be a great communicator and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do

  • Work closely with the finance team in China and Hong Kong as well as other operational teams across the business.
  • Oversee the monthly/quarterly close related activities, including journal entry, balance sheet and P&L reviews.
  • Oversee the bookkeeping, payroll, AP and cash flow needs of the business.
  • Be responsible for tax, management accounting, financial due diligence, and AFSL/FCA regulatory reporting. 
  • Support local departments in preparing forecasts and budgeting for both short term and long term objectives.
  • Support business units with commercial analysis and be a key stakeholder in developing the growth of sales teams.
  • Oversee annual audit process- Lead and coach a small team of accountants in scaling a finance function.
  • Drive finance process improvements globally and support the business in new initiatives.
  • What you'll bring

  • Qualified CA/CPA with minimum 7 years of experience.
  • Big-4 experience will be a preferential advantage.
  • Financial Services/Startup industry exposure.
  • Willingness to go hands-on and handle payroll, bookkeeping, manual work etc.
  • Commercially focused with strong business acumen.
  • Someone excited to work in a start-up environment and keen to drive change.
  • Great at building and managing relationships with stakeholders.
