Overview of Position
In this junior role you'll be responsible for recording and maintaining the financial transactions for our Australian company. As our bookkeeper, you will be working to support the Finance Team by contributing to the smooth operation of our day-to-day finances. Using your numeracy skills and eye for detail, you will ensure that all transactions are processed with accuracy and efficiency.
Role Responsibilities:
Manage creditor accounts on a daily basis – processing payable invoices, payments, reconciling supplier accounts, resolving invoice discrepancies, bank and credit card reconciliations of the Australian companyManage supplier information and recordsCross-train in payroll process as a back-up to an existing personDirect communication with the Procurement Team regarding account queries and outstanding payable invoicesAssist in the preparation of monthly returns, including BAS and payroll taxOversee efficient filing of all financial recordsUndertake any other specific duties as required by the Financial ControllerDevelop a solid operational understanding of all aspects within the Company
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Certificate IV in bookkeeping or higherOne or two years of experience in a support role within Accounting with exposure to accounts payable and bank reconciliationsStrong attention to detail with a high level of accuracyAbility to effectively communicate across all levels of the CompanyAbility to work independently & collaboratively to deliver results in demanding, deadline-driven situationsStrong general computer aptitude – intermediate to advanced word and excel skills Experience in the use of ERP
