About the role

To help drive this growth we are looking for an exceptional Management Accountant for the Australian reporting team. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this role will support the day to day accounting needs of the business and month-end reporting.
In this role, you will be AU focused and contribute to month-end close, maintaining accounting schedules (such as fixed assets & depreciation, interest calcs, etc), intercompany journals and reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and actuals vs budget analysis. You will also assist with audit requirements, payment times and modern slavery reporting, and partnering with the business on new initiatives in a finance capacity. You will also have the opportunity to work with the rest of the finance team in identifying and implementing process improvements and internal controls.

What you'll own and support:

  • Production of the month-end Management accounts & Executive reports, including month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, etc
  • Preparation and presentation of cost centre reports to analyse business efficiency
  • Intercompany journals & reconciliations
  • Balance sheet reconciliations & investigation of variances
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register and depreciation schedules
  • Assist in maintaining Cashflow forecast including all cash movements between the company and trusts
  • Collaboration across BAS & FBT returns, & provide support around tax requirements as needed
  • Payment times reporting & modern slavery reporting
  • Own the quarterly commission calculations
  • Partner rebates calculations and process enhancement
  • Assist with audit queries & requests
  • Support the business with new initiatives in a finance capacity
  • Contribute to the evolution & continuous improvement of Zip’s finance processes & procedures
  • To help us level up, you'll bring:

  • Qualified CPA/CA or studying towards this
  • Min 2-3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with month-end process.
  • Experience in monthly management reporting, budget to actuals variance analysis and commentary
  • Solid grasp of accounting standards & principles
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Excel skills.
  • BAS and FBT return experience.
  • Proven experience in process improvement.
  • Bonus points for:

  • Prior experience in the Fintech or Payments Industry 
  • Chartered accounting background
  • Experience with Forex
  • Prior experience using the following systems:
  • Calumo Reporting or similar BI financial reporting tool
