We are searching for a Taxation Specialist who will be key in providing technical tax advice and support relating to all taxes including income tax, GST/VAT, FBT and other taxes (as required) for all jurisdictions in which Envato operates. Reporting to the Global Tax Director, you will support both BAU and initiative-based taxation projects across the business. Providing advice to stakeholders across the Group and within our Global Finance team, and the ability to face into customer inquiries about tax obligations and withholding implications, mainly pertaining to the US, will be crucial elements of this role.

You will collaborate with our Finance and Treasury teams in relation to the preparation and lodgement of tax returns across all global jurisdictions, as well as provide detailed analysis of foreign tax applicability to Envato's multiple business lines.

This role will require the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and would suit an experienced person with exposure to either consulting or large, complex organisations with global footprints. Our Taxation team tackles a broad range of international and domestic tax issues from corporate reorganisations & transfer pricing to collaborating with our engineering teams to improve our tax processes and governance. You'll have the chance to grow within a developing tax function in a global technology business.

Our Expectations

  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of corporate and international tax gained from experience within a global/cross-border organisation or Big 4 chartered firm with a minimum 3 years’ experience  
  • Tertiary qualified within the finance, legal, accounting or similar 
  • Experience with cross-borders global transactions and awareness of key tax issues impacting a global business
  • Ability to perform in-depth research and legislative analysis, as well as practised written and verbal communication skills with an ability to clearly express information
  • Preparation of fringe benefits tax information packages in collaboration with tax advisors would be an advantage but isn't essential
  • Knowledge of US tax would be beneficial
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet multiple competing deadlines
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy and Excel knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and confident in dealing with global tax advisors
