Currently, our employees are predominately working from home and this role will also be remote for the time being. We anticipate employees will be returning to the office, in a flexible capacity, during 2021 as appropriate & when it is safe to do so.


As a data modeller, you will be working closely with business stakeholders, data analysts and data engineers to implement data modeling solutions to streamline and support Deputy’s enterprise information management.


  • Be responsible for the development of the conceptual, logical, and physical data models, the implementation of RDBMS, operational data store (ODS), data marts, and data lakes (preferably on Snowflake or similar platforms).
  • Build scalable models for internal teams to be able understand their customers better. Continuously improving the business’s data analysis model, creating industry-leading performance through the leveraging of new and creative data-sources
  • Oversee and govern the expansion of existing data architecture and the optimisation of data query performance via best practices. The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Works with Data engineers to ensure that the correct governance and security is applied to the databases and schemas
  • Ensure that the produced model is mature and matches the requirements with comprehensive data governance and management principles applied such as data cleansing, data quality check, data transformation, data lineage, data consistency and integrity, backup and archival policies, data storage policies, record management and retention, data access management and data encryption.
  • Be able to act as the lynchpin between the Data Analysts and the Data Engineers
  • Hands-on modelling, design, configuration and sandbox POCs.​​
  • Analysing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models
  • Define and govern data modelling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models and canonical models within Snowflake
  • Work with data analysts and data engineers to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical & physical data models
  • Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks.

  • Good knowledge of metadata management, data modeling, and related tools (Erwin or ER Studio or others) mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • 5+ years hands-on relational, dimensional, and/or analytical experience (using RDBMS, dimensional, NoSQL data platform technologies)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer/data science technical or related experience
  • Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms required
  • Experience in the SaaS Industry preferred
  • Experience with Snowflake, DBT, Airflow and Tableau would be a plus
