About the Role
We are seeking a commercially driven Director, Digital Commerce to lead the performance and optimisation of Spacetalk’s digital sales channels.
This role owns the end-to-end digital commerce engine across Shopify (DTC) and marketplace channels including Amazon, with accountability for revenue growth, contribution margin and trading performance.
Importantly, this role optimises digital channels not only for device sales, but for full ecosystem value, including activation of mobile plans and subscription services that drive recurring revenue across the Spacetalk platform.
You will operate at the intersection of commerce, analytics and operational optimisation, ensuring digital channels function as a scalable growth engine within the broader Spacetalk ecosystem.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong analytical mindset, commercial judgement and a bias for execution.

Digital commerce is one of the most important acquisition and monetisation channels within the Spacetalk ecosystem.
Our digital channels must:
- Acquire new customers profitably
- Drive device sales as the entry point into the ecosystem
- Increase activation of mobile plans and subscription services
- Improve customer lifetime value
- Deliver strong contribution margins and cash flow
The Director, Digital Commerce will ensure digital channels operate as a disciplined, analytically driven growth engine optimised for ecosystem revenue rather than device sales alone.
Key Accountabilities
Commercial Ownership
- Own digital revenue, margin and contribution targets across Shopify and marketplaces
Forecast monthly and quarterly digital performance
Identify growth opportunities and margin improvement levers
Manage pricing, bundling and promotional strategy
Ecosystem Revenue Optimisation
- Ensure digital commerce KPIs reflect the full ecosystem value (devices + subscriptions + services) rather than device sales alone
- Improve attach rates for mobile plans and app subscriptions across Shopify purchases
- Partner with Product and Mobile teams to optimise post-purchase subscription activation
- Identify opportunities to increase lifetime value across the installed device base
Shopify (Direct-to-Consumer)
- Optimise site performance, UX and conversion rate
- Improve checkout conversion and average order value
- Drive device-to-subscription attach rates
- Partner with Marketing to improve paid traffic ROI
- Oversee digital merchandising and product positioning
Marketplace Growth
- Own Amazon and marketplace P&L performance
- Improve listing optimisation, content and search performance
- Manage promotional cadence and inventory coordination
- Improve marketplace profitability and operational efficiency
- Ensure strong retail ratings and review performance
Digital Trading & Performance
- Establish disciplined weekly digital trading reviews
- Monitor KPIs including revenue, conversion rate, CAC, AOV, attach rate and margin
- Implement structured experimentation and optimisation programs
- Develop reporting dashboards and trading frameworks
Agency & Partner Management
- Manage performance marketing and CRO agencies
- Define clear KPIs and accountability frameworks
- Ensure spend efficiency and strong ROI alignment
- Rationalise tools and digital platforms where necessary
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product teams to optimise subscription attach rates
- Work closely with Supply Chain on inventory and demand planning
- Align with Finance on margin and contribution reporting
- Collaborate with Customer Support to optimise the post-purchase experience

We are looking for a commercially strong digital operator who combines analytical rigour with hands-on execution.
You are someone who:
- Interrogates data and challenges assumptions before making decisions
- Enjoys diagnosing underperforming digital systems and fixing them
- Thrives in fast-moving, growth-focused environments
- Understands both the commercial and operational mechanics of eCommerce
- Holds agencies and partners accountable to measurable outcomes
You have built your expertise through real operational experience, often learning through experimentation, optimisation and adversity across multiple digital environments.
Skills
Essential
- Strong experience managing Shopify or DTC commerce platforms
- Experience managing Amazon or marketplace channels
- Demonstrated ownership of digital revenue or channel P&L
- Strong analytical capability and comfort working with data
- Experience running CRO programs and experimentation frameworks
- Experience managing agencies and external partners
- Strong commercial judgement and decision-making
Nice to Have
- Experience working in subscription or recurring revenue businesses
- Experience scaling DTC brands internationally
- Exposure to hardware-enabled ecosystems or connected devices
- Experience working in high-growth technology environments
