About the role:
As a Risk & Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in delivering Plenti’s Risk and Compliance Program. You will bridge regulatory compliance and operational risk, ensuring effective frameworks, controls, and guardrails are in place to support sustainable growth. Leveraging your expertise across AML/CTF, credit licensing, Privacy, and operational risk, you will provide trusted guidance to the business and partner closely with Senior Management to drive strong risk awareness and accountability.
Key responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain risk and compliance frameworks, policies, procedures, and internal controls in line with regulatory requirements
Conduct risk assessments, control testing, and maintain risk registers to identify gaps, monitor operational risks, and drive remediation with business stakeholders
Lead root cause analysis of operational incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked through to completion
Prepare and deliver risk and compliance reporting to Senior Management, providing clear visibility of control effectiveness, obligations, and incidents
Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, assessing business impact and advising on required actions across the business
Ensure compliance across customer communications, marketing materials, website content, and Target Market Determinations (TMDs)
Maintain and enhance the AML/CTF program in line with AUSTRAC requirements, including oversight of CDD, EDD, ongoing monitoring, and regulatory reporting (SMRs and TTRs)
Conduct AML/CTF risk assessments and strengthen associated controls on an ongoing basis
Design and deliver compliance training to uplift awareness and capability across the organisation
About you:
In this role, you bring hands-on experience in risk and compliance within a regulated environment, underpinned by a strong understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks. You confidently apply risk methodologies in practice, assess and strengthen controls, and partner with stakeholders across the business to embed effective and pragmatic risk outcomes that support both compliance and growth.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, Risk Management, or a related field
Proven experience working within a banking or financial services organisation
Demonstrated experience in organisations holding an Australian Credit Licenceand/or Australian Financial Services Licence is highly regarded but not essential
Proven risk management and compliance expertise within the Australian lending environment, including hands-on experience implementing and monitoring NCCP, AML/CTF, Privacy, and operational risk frameworks
Experience in operational risk, compliance, or internal audit within a regulated environment
Strong understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks, including NCCP, AML/CTF, and Privacy legislation
Experience with risk assessment methodologies and control testing
Strong analytical, organisational, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
