Airwallex is the leading financial technology platform for modern businesses growing beyond borders. With one of the world’s most powerful payments and banking infrastructure, our technology empowers businesses of all sizes to accept payments, move money globally, and simplify their financial operations, all in one single platform.

Established in 2015 in Melbourne, our purpose is to connect entrepreneurs, business builders, makers and creators with opportunities in every corner of the world. Today, Airwallex has a global footprint across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America.

As an experienced and dedicated Senior Android Engineer, you are someone who enjoys building high quality, intuitive, user-friendly and beautiful mobile apps. You’re interested in working as part of a collaborative team that aims to build a great app using established best practices.

You’ll be joining Airwallex at an exciting time as we build out features of our modern Android app. The app allows customers to manage business-to-business global payments, submit and approve expenses, and manage Airwallex virtual and physical cards with features such as Google Pay wallet integration for making card transactions.

We’re using the latest technologies like AndroidX, Coroutines, Hilt, and various Jetpack libraries. We have recently begun adopting Jetpack Compose for new features and are migrating across older ones. Day to day you will contribute to the design of how our mobile app looks and feels, you’ll collaborate with your engineering colleagues to share knowledge and work out the best way of building features to ensure the app is secure, reliable, tested and always available for our customers.

We build our mobile applications in native technologies across iOS and Android, but we are well aware that these are different platforms that require their own unique UX.

In addition to core engineering duties, we actively encourage our engineering community to contribute to the growth of Airwallex generally. Our business is achieving rapid growth with an evolving roadmap, and we want our engineers to play a part in how that happens.
