About the Role

As the Senior Commercial Advisor (Finance), you will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s operational and financial performance through expert guidance on commercial strategy, financial modelling and analysis and owning the delivery of Tyro’s group forecast & five-year planning. You will be a subject matter leader within the organisation delivering actionable insights to senior leaders, facilitate fact-based decision making, and ensure commercial planning across the organisation links back to Tyro’s strategic plans, shareholder value and customer outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Reporting / insights
  •  Develop reports and presentations to effectively communicate how Tyro’s core operating and financial drivers (actuals and forecast) are performing relative to plan and Market Guidance.
  • Identify trends and provide actionable insights to XLT and senior leadership.
  • Own the provision and accuracy of Tyro’s monthly group forecast and guidance comparison process, incorporating inputs from subject matter expertise from across the team to business expectations are reflected in group forecast. Advise and escalate material or emerging divergences to senior leadership and XLT.
  • Work with stakeholders in the broader finance team to ensure financial systems and tools align with single source systems of record being used by the business to drive performance decision making.
  • Own the investor reporting process to ensure externally reported metrics agree to internal single sources of truth across operational and financial measures.
  • Corporate advisory / decision support
  •  Partner with team members to standardise forecasting processes and ensure long-term forecast strategic plans are communicated across the team and facilitate new tracking and measurement prioritisation decisions.
  • Support the team lead in M&A transactions to provide decision support to the CEO, CFO & XLT, valuation expertise and regulatory capital and liquidity impact assessments.
  • Own the Group Forecast Model and ensure stakeholders across the Finance & Corporate Advisory group have sufficient access to use as a single source for Tyro’s emerging financial plans.
  • Support the CEO, CFO and GM – Corporate Advisory on any ad-hoc investor or commercial analytical support. Develop reports and presentations that effectively communicate performance trends, insights, opportunities, challenges and support the development of recommended actions for these key stakeholders.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and consequent advice to senior leadership on areas of performance that requires investigative support.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement performance optimization plans, continuously monitoring and co-partnering the development of commercial execution plans to ensure effective alignment to Tyro’s strategy and cross-functional performance.
  • Develop a strong understanding of market dynamics, industry trends and the competitive landscape to contextualise advise with an understanding of the environment.
  • Subject matter leadership
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, ensuring effective communication, and alignment of priorities.
  • Play an organisational leadership role within the organisation as the subject matter expert on operational and financial forecasts and the custodian of Tyro’s sources of truth for translating internal plans into financial modelling.
  • Work to develop company-wide understanding of the drivers of performance across the organisation through both the lens of the customer and our shareholders.
  • Develop and cross-skill other members of the team.
  • What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or a related field.
  • Expert proficiency in financial modelling and translating commercial drivers of performance into flexible modelling tools for tactical C-suite decision support.
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools and reporting platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with the ability to advise C-suite decision makers on business dynamics and drivers.
  • Proven experience drawing linkages between business performance drivers to customer and shareholder value creation.
