Our Finance & Commercial Team consists of Financial Reporting Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Risk and Procurement. As trusted Business Partners, we support all Teams across THE ICONIC to execute the business strategy, drive growth and shareholder value, minimise risk, and enable THE ICONIC to continue to deliver a seamless and inspiring experience to our customers.
What you’ll do
The Commercial Analyst role sits within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team, reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager. The role supports the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process, longer-term strategic and financial planning as well as providing ongoing insights and analysis on customer behaviour and performance, as well as marketing activities and performance within our Commercial and Tech Team at THE ICONIC
To succeed in this role you will be agile, comfortable working in a fast paced environment and have a continuous improvement mindset. You will love to immerse yourself in data and are able to draw out insights that lead to action and be able to clearly communicate the insights. You have a highly analytical mind with a structured, logical manner of thinking which is critical to success in this role.
How You’ll Succeed
- Building and managing financial models for P&L and business case assessments.
- Highly analytical and data driven- ability to interpret data, analyse business trends and performance and provide insightful analysis and reporting to drive effective decision-making
- Proactive and not afraid to challenge the status-quo - continuously seek out ways to identify and drive improvement in business processes, including automation of reports and models
- Ability to identify and raise issues such as unexplained cost escalations or an unintended consequence of a performance metric whilst supporting the business
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail even in high-intensity and pressure situations
- Building stakeholder relationships and have a passion for influencing business decision making
What it takes
- 2 to 3 years experience as a commercial analyst or similar in the retail industry
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with an ability to win the trust and respect of stakeholders
- CA or CPA qualified or working towards - numbers are my passion!
- Excellent communicator with strong, clear, concise writing and presentation skills
- Effective time management, with the ability to handle multiple jobs at once
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is key
