About the role:
As an Engineering Team Lead at Plenti, you will be at the heart of our technical innovation. This is a pivotal "player-coach" role where you'll balance hands-on development with strategic leadership, guiding a talented engineering team to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. You will partner with product managers, collaborate with architects, and mentor your team members to foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and high performance. Your leadership will be crucial in driving our projects forward and enhancing our engineering tech stack.
What You'll Do:
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and empower a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Project & Delivery Management: Partner closely with Product Managers to assess upcoming work, break down high-level requirements into a well-defined, deliverable backlog, and guide the team's execution.
• Technical Guidance & Strategy: Provide hands-on technical guidance, driving the design and implementation of solutions within our event-driven, microservices architecture. Collaborate with Principal Engineers and Architects to ensure alignment with our long-term technical vision.
• Workflow & Prioritization: Manage the day-to-day workflow of the team, assigning tasks and making final decisions to ensure alignment with project goals and technical priorities.
• Quality & Standards: Uphold and enforce exceptional coding standards, best practices, and a test-driven development (TDD) mindset to maintain and enhance product quality.
• Operational Excellence: Own and manage the incident response process for your team, ensuring issues are delegated and resolved efficiently to minimize impact.
• Process Improvement: Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering processes and practices.
About you:
• Extensive Experience: 8+ years of professional software development experience, with extensive hands-on expertise in .NET technologies (C#, .NET Core/.NET 6+).
• Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading an engineering team and/or managing complex technical projects from conception to delivery.
• Architectural Expertise: A strong understanding of event-driven architectures, microservices patterns, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.
• Passion for Quality: A deep commitment to software quality, with proven experience establishing and enforcing high coding standards, best practices, and a test-driven approach.
• Collaborative Mindset: You are a natural collaborator who thrives in multidisciplinary team environments and can work effectively across different functions.
• Exceptional Communication: You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, guide, and articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Business Accumen: A business-oriented approach, with the ability to translate technical complexities into clear business value and outcomes.
• Strong Organisational Skills: Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the insight to effectively manage your team's workload and focus.
