The Principal Consultant role is team focused and outcome driven. It provides delivery, domain strategy, team and stakeholder leadership for Versent engagements. The role has accountability to deliver the engagement as per the customer requirements within the commercial construct. 

The Principal Consultant takes ownership for the creation of an effective and engaged team formed for the duration of the engagement only for the purpose of achieving the agreed set goals. Act as first point of call for client in relation to the engagement to align the technical outcome to the client needs, by building rapport and trust. 

The Principal Consultant is knowledgeable around Versent’s go-to-market Data domain and are an expert in this space. They use this knowledge to shape the Customers strategy and approach to the transformation.


  • Minimum 20 years industry experience;
  • Must have T-shaped skills
  • Must have experience across all pillars in Data in case we need to pivot as we grow the Data Practice, i.e.; Data Analysis, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing and Data Science;
  • Comfortable engaging at the C-level;
  • Strong influencing skills - able to change client and stakeholder perspectives to produce the right outcome;
  • Well-known and established credibility in the Partner ecosystem;
  • Opportunist - must be able to take inputs from Sales or/and Principal Advisor and translate to business outcomes from a Delivery point of view. Also, brings inputs and opportunities for expansion in accounts to our Sales/CTO teams;
  • Must be constantly watching out for cross-sell/upsell opportunities in a client/prospect as we grow the Data Practice;
  • Must be able to provide guidance/direction to Lead Engineers and Senior Consultants;
  • Must be able to oversee/lead delivery governance of data engagements
  • Must have people leadership experience to take on a data team for career development, mentoring & coaching, internal admin etc
  • Highly proactive and driven to create reusable artefacts, create sustainable relationships and differentiate Versent in the ecosystem.
