About the roles
We're hiring multiple Senior Product Designers across our Design team where you'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of Xero's products, contributing to product vision, strategy and end-to-end experiences within your product area. You'll work both indepedently and collaboratively with Design or cross-functional peers from Engineering and Product, leveraging your Design craft and understanding of Xero's strategy to design beautiful experiences for our customers. Our teams work on a range of different areas across our product portfolio from designing beautiful onboarding experiences for our small business customers through to designing for AI use cases for our accounting and bookkeeping customers.

What you'll do

You'll expertly apply your advanced knowledge of design fundamentals and platform standards, delivering detailed design deliverables and high-quality experiences that contribute to business objectives and world-class end-to-end experiences.

Collaborating with researchers and product managers, you'll independently conduct research using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods to identify patterns and insights that inform your design decisions.

You'll effectively communicate design ideas with others, constructing evidence-based arguments to support your decisions and direction in documents, presentations, and in person, confidently presenting in design reviews and to cross-functional stakeholders while answering questions well and keeping them informed.

You'll independently organise, break down, and sequence your work effectively to achieve goals, involving cross-functional team members to align and achieve objectives, and adjusting plans to fit workloads and deadlines while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.

You'll have a strong understanding of Xero's strategy and contribute to the product vision and roadmap. You'll translate complex ideas into simple solutions, designing within the complexities of the product portfolio and considering the impact of your work on other products and experiences.

You'll demonstrate design leadership by effectively partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment on design solutions and advocate for user-centered approaches, leveraging your strong communication skills and ability to articulate evidence-based design decisions to influence project direction and elevate the overall quality of the product experience.

What you'll bring with you

A degree, or training in design or a related field.

A portfolio of work that demonstrates impact across a range of product design facets; from visual and interaction design, through to research and prototyping.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions.

A deep understanding of user-centred design principles and a passion for creating intuitive and engaging experiences.

Ideally, experience working in a fast paced, agile product environment
