THE SOLUTION We need the fourth element, shallow geothermal, which is efficient heating and cooling using thermal energy from the ground. Not only does this reduce cost for end users, but it also reduces demand on the network, helping large scale renewables to solve the energy trilemma in terms of emissions, cost and security.
