Cindicium was founded to provide the supply chain community with a simple, fast, reliable and low-cost method for container weighing. On the 1st July 2016, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) changed the Safety of Life at Sea Convention (SOLAS) to make it compulsory for containers to have a verified weight before being loaded onto a ship for export. Subsequently, shippers, freight forwarders, transport operators, and vessel and terminal operators have had to establish new policies and procedures in order to comply with this change. In addition to the SOLAS laws, Heavy Vehicle National Laws in relation to Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation will change from July 2018. These two regulations partially overlap, especially in relation to safe loading of containers With this in mind, Cindicium has launched our Container Lift and Weigh (CLAW) Truck (T) series solution. CLAW T-series will manage data at the ‘practical end’ of the container supply chain by weighing, identifying and tracking and disseminating the data associated with the shipment. Our weighing equipment, together with our Mobile App, allow you to quickly weigh a container - on any truck in any location - and capture, store and transmit that data to your customers via our online portal.
