Created by one of Melbourne’s youngest entrepreneurs, EDIE is an AI bot that aims to solve common pain problems that VCE students have. Lisa Tran saw many of these common problems after launching ‘Lisa’s Study Guides’ in 2010 when she began producing education and tutoring students throughout Melbourne. Now that Lisa’s Study Guides has over 16,000 subscribers on YouTube, she and her partner Josh are turning to artificial intelligence (specifically, deep learning) to create a tutor-bot for Year 11 and 12 students. The goal is that students have access study support anytime, anywhere. The bot is currently in beta mode and can be used through Facebook Messenger.
