Ida Sports was founded by Laura Youngson in June 2017 after she set the Guinness World Record for the world's highest altitude soccer match. The match was played to highlight gender inequality in sport. Whilst she was on the mountain with athletes from 25 countries around the world, the same problem kept coming up - the women weren't happy with their boots. Laura began to research further and found that the majority of athletic cleats on the market were made for men and boys'​ feet.
