Seljak Brand makes recycled wool blankets using offcuts from the factory floor of Australia’s oldest mill in Tasmania. The blankets can be recycled at the end of their useful lives – this is what closing the loop on consumer goods looks like. Making waste desirable diverts it from landfill and reduces the need to extract more resources. It also creates new manufacturing and marketing opportunities. Since launching we've had countless enquiries from individuals and business who want to divert their textile waste from landfill too. So we're currently mapping waste pathways and testing varying fibre types to innovate new products from textile waste. Tackling textile waste is the first step toward our vision: a world without waste.
