We are looking for a qualified buyer to join our Buying team and be part of Showpo’s ongoing success as an online brand and retailer, the position will focus predominantly on driving growth in Showpo’s key categories across in-house brand, White labels and bought product. 

This position is a key driver of the holistic category aesthetic and ultimately accountable for the performance of their designated categories. A Showpo Buyer is responsible for building commercial ranges (in collaboration with the design team, product selection from external suppliers). All facets of category trading including reporting, repeat order and category edit management, go live planning and markdowns across indent and core lines.

Day to day, you will:

  • Weekly reporting, which includes trade report, best and worst, new arrivals, repeat orders and markdown management
  • Responsible for managing and building a commercial and desirable own buy/floor range that meets sales budgets, margin targets & closing stocks, inline with RRP architecture, OTB budget requirements and customer expectations
  • Understand and fill gaps (newness, repeats, developments etc…)  in the range driving the trend and fashion relevance
  • Having a clear understanding of our customer persona’s & regional requirements (counter seasonal offerings / ranging)
  • Managing CAT portfolio from core lines to newness, including; markdowns, allocating go-live trends, TN updates & reshoots to ensuring product has the best opportunity to sell
  • Trend, pricing and competitor research to identify product relevant to the customer through social media and local market research
  • In conjunction with senior team, sign off monthly newness drops alongside the design team to create a balanced and desired range aligned with trade analysis, trend/colour research
  • Seasonal analysis including SWOTs, seasonal bring backs, comp shops and key learnings 
  • Suggest opportunities for growth within and beyond your categories.
  • Work with marketing team to provide key styles to promote for the season
  • Check once live to ensure product is displayed well, with all accurate relevant detail 
  • Allocating & ensuring relevant product mix in allocated onsite edits
  • Give feedback to Ecomm of any required changes, including presentation, menu selection, and quality product information.
  • Provide support, training and coaching to direct report/s to develop their skills and support them in their career goals.

  • Who are we looking for?

  • Experience in People Leadership experience is required
  • Proficient in Own-label buying, with years of experience in this sector, branded buying experience not a requirement
  • Strong organisational skills and a structured approach
  • Ability to analyse data using this to inform key decision making and trading actions
  • Clear and concise communication skills
