THE ICONIC Commercial team is data, product and trend orientated. Our Commercial team is customer obsessed and delivers the future of fashion through curating a customer centric platform of choice. The Category Buying team work together with the Planning team to drive sales, maximise profit, manage intake and ensure that of the moment and forward-thinking ranges engage THE ICONIC customer. Working closely with the Finance team to deliver THE ICONIC and GFG objectives and Operations teams to ensure inventory forecasts are accurate.

We are currently looking for a Junior Designer/Designer to join our own brand Design Team. Reporting into our Own Brand Design Manager, this role is essential in driving the conception and development of all product in your brand by always driving innovation & creativity with a customer centric focus. This role is an excellent opportunity for a creative but commercially minded Designer who can translate trends into unique, contemporary designs.
 

About the role:

  • Lead the design direction and a create captivating collection in line with your brand/brands from start to finish
  • Maintain a close link with manufacturers to ensure seamless handover of developments, making sure all tech packs submitted are accurate, completed and submitted in line with company timelines.
  • Communicate regularly with the Design Team to ensure any critical design issues or developments are highlighted and resolved when required
  • Select, develop, and source fabrications, colours, trims etc. in line with company standards
  • Attends fit sessions and uses technical ability to ensure best fit is achieved and approve final samples with GT
  • Approve all details of final product in line with original design brief
  • Understands the manufacturing structure of the supplier’s business in order to recognise cost & manufacturing opportunities for every design submitted
  • Participating in range planning meetings to ensure the range is balanced in styling, colour and fabrications.  
  • Understand and drive company wide strategies and Objectives and Key Results

What it takes

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Assistant Designer/Junior Designer role
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong trend forecasting skills with a commercial eye for fashion
  • Ability to time manage work load in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Proficient in illustrator and photoshop would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
