About the role

We’re looking for an Onboarding Manager to own and lead the design and delivery of Sonder’s onboarding experience.

This role is responsible for ensuring customers achieve early value, strong activation, and a confident transition into ongoing Customer Success. While the primary focus is on larger enterprise customers with 3,000+ employees, this role also influences onboarding effectiveness across all customer segments.

You’ll work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Support to deliver onboarding programs that are structured, scalable, and outcome-driven.

What You’ll Be Doing

Onboarding design and delivery

  • Lead end-to-end onboarding programs that drive customer value, activation, and adoption of the Sonder platform.
  • Translate customer needs into clear onboarding plans that align to their operating environment.
  • Deliver education sessions, workshops, and onboarding programs for a range of customer stakeholders, from delivery teams through to senior leaders.

Program execution and project management

  • Own and manage onboarding projects across customers of varying size and complexity, including enterprise and government customers.
  • Oversee technical onboarding requirements including integrations, data setup, and governance processes.
  • Ensure onboarding programs are delivered on time, with clear accountability and proactive risk management.

Stakeholder engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with external stakeholders across clients in P&C, Safety, HR, and executive leadership.
  • Partner closely with internal teams including Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Support to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Support pre-sales conversations where required, helping customers understand the onboarding journey and setting clear expectations early.

Measurement and continuous improvement

  • Track onboarding performance using agreed success measures such as delivery efficiency, activation and adoption, customer satisfaction, and contribution to retention and growth outcomes.
  • Use data and feedback to continuously improve onboarding programs, assets, and ways of working.
  • Develop reusable onboarding assets and scalable approaches that support consistency and efficiency as Sonder grows.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in onboarding, customer success, implementation, or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Experience onboarding enterprise or complex customers, ideally in a SaaS or technology-enabled environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple onboarding or implementation projects concurrently.
  • Experience working with technical setups such as integrations, SSO, and data management.
  • Exposure to HR, wellbeing, safety, or regulated environments is helpful but not essential.

Skills and approach

  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Confident engaging and presenting to stakeholders at all levels, both in person and online.
  • Comfortable working with data to assess performance and guide decisions.
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to navigate scope discussions and identify opportunities to add value.
  • Calm, structured, and outcome-focused in complex or high-pressure situations.
