About the role:
As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will help shape the future of our marketplace. You’ll lead ML projects like demand forecasting, dynamic pricing, and recommendation engines, delivering real impact across the business.
Working with a high-performing data team, you'll design and deploy end-to-end data products and help build our internal ML capabilities. This is your chance to own core IP, influence product experiences, and drive strategic decisions.

How you will add value:
- Lead our ML development - designing, coding, experimenting, implementing and deploying models and algorithms that enhance the customer experience, optimise supply and demand, improve business outcomes, and expand product capabilities.
- Identify new commercial opportunities for advanced analytics across various domains within the organisation, leveraging AI/ML to drive growth.
- Collaborating closely with product teams, data engineers, and data analysts to shape the direction of the hipages marketplace as we continue to grow and evolve.
- Build, shape, and deliver data products and machine learning platform capabilities across the entire ML and product lifecycle, from model training to model serving, monitoring, observability, and feature store.
- Scale data science operations - improve workflows and automation tools, and help the team scale through reusable frameworks and libraries.
- Apply engineering and product best practices to apply agile and iterative approaches to releasing data products and platform capabilities.
- Contribute to fostering an open, positive atmosphere within the team, promoting collaboration, learning, and growth.
- Mentor and uplift others - support junior data scientists and analysts, encouraging growth and knowledge-sharing within the team.
- Communicate clearly and confidently - present complex insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders, making research outcomes understandable and actionable.
About you:
- Proven experience leading end-to-end machine learning initiatives in product-led environments, with a strong understanding of the digital product lifecycle.
- Experience of developing, and maintaining recommendation systems and deep learning models and algorithms, with proficiency in PyTorch.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and strong SQL skills.
- Practical experience with MLOps practices, including model deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD/CT workflows.
- Direct experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, and maintaining offline and online feature stores, as well as vector stores for retrieval-based systems.
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Data Platform infrastructure (e.g. Databricks or Snowflake)
- Great communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic outcomes.
