We are building a disruptive platform that dramatically reduces the cost of storage by unlocking significantly more energy from every battery cell.  We want to see a world abundant with clean energy and believe we will make a meaningful contribution.

Our core values fuel and motivate our work:

  1. Prioritise what matters most: We strive to work with clear objectives and understand why they are the right goals to pursue.
  2. Think critically: We base our decisions on informed, open-minded evaluations, not on hierarchy or gut feelings.
  3. Be decisive: We prioritise action and continuously move forward, adapting as new data becomes available.
  4. Quality and elegance in everything: We put in the effort to distil complexity and make things as clear and impactful as possible.
  5. Collaborate or fail: We seek to work with those who excel and recognise that partnerships are essential to our success.

About the Role

Location: This position offers the ability to work from anywhere in Australia. Domestic travel will be required, both to complete customer visits and to attend our Melbourne HQ regularly.

Team background: Reporting to the Head of Australia, the Solutions Engineer will be pivotal in bridging product development, sales, and customer implementation for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role ensures successful integration, deployment, and support of Relectrify’s energy storage solutions within Commercial & Industrial (C&I), utility-scale, and microgrid applications.

As the first Relectrify Solutions Engineer in this region, you will have the opportunity to establish processes, solve challenges, and continually improve outcomes for external stakeholders to ensure a positive brand and technology experience.

Who we’re looking for: A Solutions, Project or Applications Engineer with significant experience in the deployment of battery storage projects in C&I, distribution-level and front-of-meter applications. You will have the knowledge and ability to assess customer energy storage needs, site feasibility, and grid compatibility for deploying Relectrify’s AC1 and future battery solutions.

You are a fast learner with a passion for renewable energy. Working alongside internal teams and will be supported to become an expert on our technology and its applications. You will use that expertise to inform customer project design and ensure delivery within our scope to battery energy storage project developers, large business energy users, EPC firms and energy consultants.

You will be comfortable working with a diverse set of stakeholders and skilled in taking complex concepts and technical jargon and communicating these in an easily digestible way for your target audience.

What you’ll be doing: Relectrify is launching an innovative new battery energy storage system for the Australian market. Built on its CellSwitch® platform, the Relectrify AC1 delivers ‘More Energy’ to asset owners, dramatically improving BESS revenue and project investment returns. The AC1 will primarily be sold and deployed in C&I applications, but it will also be deployed in distribution-level front-of-meter applications. This role provides technical engineering support for the AC1 to both partners and customers. This includes:

    1. Technical Pre-Sales Support: Work closely with Sales & BD teams to provide technical expertise during customer interactions. Assess customer energy storage needs, site feasibility, and grid compatibility for deploying Relectrify’s AC1 and future battery solutions. Develop technical proposals, system designs, and cost-benefit analyses for potential clients. Collaborate with channel partners, EPCs (Engineering, Procurement & Construction firms), and integrators to optimise deployments.
    2. System Design & Feasibility Analysis: Work with Product & Engineering teams to design system architectures that align with customer energy requirements. Develop technical diagrams, single-line electrical schematics, and site layouts for energy storage installations. Analyse grid interconnection requirements to ensure compliance with AS4777, IEC, UL, and other regional regulations. Provide battery sizing recommendations based on load profiles, energy tariffs, and application-specific constraints.
    3. Customer Deployment & Integration: Support commission & installation of battery systems at customer sites, ensuring proper setup & configuration. Work with Field Engineers & Installation Teams to ensure seamless system integration with solar PV, inverters, and microgrid controllers. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and grid connectivity issues during installation & initial operation. Work with firmware & software engineering teams to resolve technical issues affecting real-world deployments.
    4. Post-Sales Customer Support & Training: Act as a technical liaison between customers and Relectrify’s internal teams. Develop and deliver technical training sessions for customers, channel partners, and system installers. Create and maintain FAQs, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides for field deployments. Support remote monitoring & performance optimisation by interpreting data from deployed systems and providing insights.
    5. Product Feedback & Continuous Improvement: Collect real-world customer feedback on hardware performance, firmware updates, and integration challenges. Works closely with Product Management & R&D to prioritise feature requests and enhancements. Identify market trends & customer pain points to inform future product development. Provide input on technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and ease of use for customers.

You will work alongside internal teams and become an expert on our technology and its applications. You will use that expertise to inform customer project design and ensure delivery within our scope to battery energy storage project developers, large business energy users, EPC firms and energy consultants.

Over time, you will drive smarter, faster, more effective delivery of technical solutions to customers, including improving tools, documentation and processes for more effective customer and partner engagement.
