About the role

As Sonder’s Senior Support Centre Psychologist, you’ll act as the clinical subject matter expert for mental health cases within our Support Centre operations. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you’ll provide clinical supervision, guidance, and escalation support to Sonder’s Mental Health Pathways team of Psychologists and Counsellors, as well as our network of third-party mental health providers. You’ll review complex cases and develop management plans to ensure members are transitioned to the most appropriate care. The role also involves delivering psycho-education and critical incident support to customers, managing extension requests, and participating in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and case management activities. In addition, you’ll contribute to Sonder’s governance and quality frameworks through clinical audits, supervision, and process improvement initiatives

What you’ll be doing

You’ll oversee the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based mental health support within Sonder’s hybrid telehealth model — balancing clinical governance with hands-on case oversight and team mentorship.

  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex clinical cases and care coordination.
  • Review and approve treatment extension requests from internal and third-party psychologists.
  • Lead or contribute to case reviews, management plans, and clinical recommendations within the MDT.
  • Provide one-on-one clinical supervision and support to Sonder’s psychology and counselling team.
  • Deliver psycho-education and critical incident response sessions to customers as required.
  • Support the Director of Clinical Services and Practice Manager with governance, quality assurance, and clinical complaint management.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, recruitment, and onboarding of new clinicians.
  • Collaborate on clinician Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and professional development initiatives.
  • Represent Sonder’s clinical stream at customer-facing events and professional forums

Who are we looking for?

We’re seeking a highly experienced and confident clinical leader with deep expertise in psychological practice and mental health care. You’ll thrive in this role if you combine clinical excellence with strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. You’re someone who can balance governance and service delivery, while supporting a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.

What you bring to the team:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, with Board-Approved Supervisor Status.
  • Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience across diverse presentations and populations.
  • Strong background in evidence-based, recovery-oriented care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Experience providing virtual or telehealth psychological services.
  • Proven ability to provide clinical supervision and mentorship to registered or early-career clinicians.
  • Skilled in care coordination, case formulation, and crisis management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex information clearly.
  • Confidence with technology and documentation systems
  • Passion for delivering mental health care that makes a tangible difference in people’s lives
