About the role
As a Senior Social Worker at Sonder, you will play a vital role in supporting members and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care. You will conduct direct member sessions, provide counselling and case management, and advocate for members to access essential services. Additionally, you will offer training and mentorship to internal teams, manage complex case escalations, and contribute to quality assurance processes, all while adhering to professional and ethical standards.
What you’ll be doing
- Conduct two 55-minute direct member sessions per day, offering counselling, information, and referrals to external services.
- Develop and implement individualised management and treatment plans for members.
- Advocate on behalf of members to ensure they receive necessary care and services.
- Provide guidance and training to member support teams on domestic violence, child protection, and mandatory reporting guidelines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to collaborate on care plans and case management.
- Manage escalations from member support teams, reviewing complex cases and providing expert social work input.
- Assist in quality assurance processes for the Level 2 team to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Support Social Work placements and provide mentorship to team members.

What you bring to the team;
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- A minimum of 3 years of postgraduate experience in social work and/or case management.
- Strong clinical expertise in mental health, including risk assessment and crisis intervention.
- Proven ability to complete psychosocial assessments and implement effective management plans.
- Prior experience working across a variety of mental health issues, age groups and cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement
