We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager for a 8 month MTC to oversee and manage all payroll-related functions and month-end financial reporting. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with payroll tax, superannuation, and related obligations, and for ensuring accurate payroll calculations, reporting, and record-keeping.
Additionally, the Finance Manager will assist in month-end financial processes, cost allocation, and financial reporting, while also collaborating with other departments on ad hoc reporting needs and strategic projects. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional with a strong understanding of payroll, accounting, and financial systems.
How you will spend your time:
Oversee and review end to end payroll processing (including accounting for Payroll) performed by Senior Payroll Officer for 700+ employees across multiple entities and countriesOversee timely reporting and payment of Payroll obligations within Australia (i.e. STP, PAYG, Superannuation and Payroll tax)Oversee progress tracking of accounting month-end deliverables and ensure deadlines are met by the teamReview and assist with subsidiary P&L reviews, including providing payroll commentary and variance analysisContribute to month-end financial reporting, including cost allocation journals, commission accruals, and accruals and reconciliations for AL, LSL, and other payroll-related liabilities.Preparation of accounting data and commentary for monthly Group reporting pack to SLTAssist wider accounting team with technical queries and approval of employee expense reportsReview and recommend improved processes to increase efficiencies
About you:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldCA/CPA QualifiedAt least 3 years’ experience in an industry finance role, with a strong focus on payroll, accounting, and financial reporting.In-depth understanding of Australian payroll compliance (PAYG, Super, AL/LSL, Payroll tax), month-end reporting, and balance sheet reconciliation.Sound knowledge of Microsoft ExcelStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of the organisationStrong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and maintaining high standards of financial integrityProactive and enthusiastic attitude with a focus on process enhancement
Desirable:
Experience using NetSuite ERP and KeyPay (Employment Hero Payroll)Experience in process improvements, particularly through automation or system integrations, is a plus.
