Cicada creates and accelerates deep tech ventures through specialised commercialisation and accelerator programs that feed into the incubator where companies can receive longer term support. Cicada is a program driven incubator, where the incubator provides selected program graduates with continued support and access to specialised infrastructure, a curated community of deep tech entrepreneurs, capabilities and talent from our University shareholders. The Cicada Innovations team has worked with more than 300 businesses, helping its portfolio companies raise over $330M in private equity and government grants, file over 500 patents and trademarks, and for thirteen, sell their business. In 2015-18 alone, Cicada Innovations'​ portfolio companies raised over $130M AUD in private and public funding. Globally recognised and awarded, Cicada Innovations is owned by four of Australia's leading universities: Australian National University, University of New South Wales, University of Sydney and University of Technology Sydney.
