About the opportunity

We’re looking for a talented Engineering Delivery Lead to take on the leadership for one of our teams. You’ll manage the delivery of our exciting product roadmap and scale our platform as we expand globally. As an Engineering Delivery Lead, you will work closely with Partners, Product Managers, Technical Leads, Quality Assurance and Engineers to deliver solutions that add value to internal and external customers.

You will work with colleagues who:

About our platform tech:

  • Java/Spring/Go microservices
  • Open source and AWS technologies (ECS/RDS/DynamoDB/S3/SQS/APIGateway/Lambda), IaC (Cloudformation)

Day to day, you’ll:

  • work with Engineers to establish career plans, review promotions & coach Engineers
  • manage the engineering team’s resource planning, recruitment and headcount
  • participate in technical decisions and own outcomes
  • work with Engineers to establish metrics that help to increase performance
  • collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager to plan and execute multiple initiatives
  • build performant, sustainable, and maintainable technologies and code
  • be accountable for progress towards agreed delivery milestones, escalating as needed
  • be responsible for the quality of solutions developed by your team
  • Invest 80% of your time leading your team and delivering product features, 20% in writing code

About you

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in leadership
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience in software development
  • a strong sense of curiosity and self motivation, and the willingness to participate in all areas of engineering
  • experience across the whole software development lifecycle, including running what you build
  • the desire to share your knowledge and coordinate and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical people
  • experience in building and maintaining a collaborative team culture, the willingness to experiment, fail, and try again
  • experience in raising the profile of, and promoting, team achievements - with a track record of successful delivery and happy teams

Bonus points for:

  • experience with developing software in a cloud-hosted environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • experience with developing integrations for systems that have complex specifications and behaviours
  • having a fintech and payments background
